Expressing the real meaning of "love" in your marriage...

What does this even mean?

In a marriage, the meaning of love is deeper and brought to a higher level. At least it was designed to do so.

However we have become a people who over use the word "love" for meaningless things. For example, "I love my car," "I love the neighbourhood we live in," "I love pizza." And so on and so forth.

As we continue to use the word "love" in those examples above, it diminishes the true meaning.

What is the true meaning of this worn out word.

The Bible says, “Husbands, love your wives as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for it” (Ephesians 5:25).

The full measure of that kind of love is pretty impossible to comprehend. But it should be the goal of every husband because every husband was designed to conquer this.

In a marriage the most important thing a wife becomes is her husbands best friend. A husband is to be the leader and the wife is to trust, follow and support her husband.

Trusting that God is leading your man.

By doing these things, we can have hope that our "love" for our spouse is so much more than the love we share with our car, icecream and rollercoasters!

Let's use the word "love" a little less in the things of this world, so that it can mean more in the moment's it should mean the most.
