Behind many great and successful husband's are....

Behind many great and successful men/husbands are an encouraging wife.

I have really been learning that my biggest role and desire as a wife is to be my husbands greatest encourager and supporter.

The world has sold us that men have to be strong and brave, not afraid of anything and if they are not any of those things then they are not “man enough." And unfortunately we have bought that.

And with that purchase we forget to encourage the men in our lives, because they are invincible, and that they have no fears in the world!

Here’s the thing, that is just something the world has taught us ever since we were little kids, but it is not true.

I think we need to turn to the truth so that we are not tearing our men apart anymore.

So what are some characteristics of a Godly Man?

1) Stand strong-

The world says men have to be strong as in they can never break down they have to always hold themselves together in strength. And the world temps men every single day.

God says men have to be strong- but a different kind of strong. To stand strong and to not give in when they are challenged, attacked or criticized but to keep their heart pure.

“Now behold, I have made you today as a fortified city and as a pillar of iron and as walls of bronze against the whole land, to the kings of Judah, to its princes, to its priests and to the people of the land. They will fight against you, but they will not overcome you, for I am with you to deliver you,” declares the LORD. – Jeremiah 1:18-19

2) Stay Humble-

The world has taught us that we have to prove ourselves in today’s society, we have to prove our riches and our awards to be accepted.

The bible says to stay humble and that is a Godly characteristic in Godly Men.

"Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. 5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, Philippians 2:3-5

3) Devotes himself to God-

The world has taught men to devote themselves to their career. And if they don’t then they will never be successful and won’t be able to support their families.

God says to devote themselves unto him.

“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” – Matthew 6:33 ”

God is his number one priority before his wife and family. Always looking towards God to guide him in his marriage.

5) He has integrity-

See the world rarely ever teaches us about integrity because quit frankly it doesn’t care about it.

But God says that a Godly man has integrity. Integrity meaning always striving to be honest and just and laying out a strong ethical foundation for himself to walk on.

These are the differences between what the world expects of men and what God expects of men and what a true Godly man looks like.

The world is wrong. God is right.

So it is important as a wife to know the difference between what the world expects and what our heavenly father sees as a Godly man.

For your husband to really live out being a Godly man and a Godly Husband they really do need your support and encouragement as a wife especially because they have the world against them. The world will tell them one thing but it is not what God wants.

Encourage them, everyone needs a little bit of encouragement or we wouldn’t survive this world.

So do not forget to encourage your man and help him to see that what the world expects of him, is not what you or God expects of him.

Be for him- not against him.
